wow, what a whirl-wind of a trip! after 9-10 hours bus and train rides, we are finally back home from Yu-lin. i think the consensus just 5 minutes into our trip away from the orphanage was that we miss the kids and Yu-lin already! it was such a great learning experience. we met so many great/awesome people, with amazing hearts of the needy – from all of the orphanage staff, to local volunteers, to the grace and hope organization in Nanning…everyone was so welcoming and loving towards us.

i have also learned a lot about myself, after reflecting back on the trip. i learned i love jesus, his children, and his vision for me more than anything else in this world. i would be willing to give up anything for those three things. however, i also learned that i have SOOOO many flaws, as a leader, as a friend, as a brother, as a person. i NEED loving people to keep me accountable. i realized that i am still a growing boy in the eyes of the lord! i thank the lord so much, especially for the reason that he allowed my best friend and sister, alberta, to come on this trip with me. i hope he continues to mold us into his image! i know i have a long ways to go…but i’m excited to be on this journey!
