As many of you know, our goal and deadline for obtaining 501c3 (nonprofit) status has long long gone. Won’t go into the details, but it’s been a long long road; one filled with frustration and feelings of helplessness (or is it hopelessness?). I have to be constantly reminded that God’s timing is better than my timing…that most times, He uses the longer path between A and B, not the direct and “most efficient” route, in order to teach us something or reveal something greater that we wouldn’t have gotten otherwise. However, the process has seemed to take on a big standstill…and we need your prayers! Prayers for patience…and deliverance.

We have been going through Francis Chan’s book, Crazy Love, with a small group of friends. We were convicted this week as a group to “DO Something!” I think I often feel moved by the Spirit to do something (e.g. help the poor, feed the hungry, encourage the broken-hearted, etc.) but I get overwhelmed by so many other things or I find so many excuses: the problem is too big, I am just one person, what good can one person do, I am too busy right now, and so on…. Time passes, and the the longer I ignore the voice of the Spirit, the quieter He becomes. I have missed out on something awesome He had planned and, usually, someone else misses out too because of my disobedience. Learning to live with my ear/heart tuned into God’s voice is wonderfully intimate and exciting. It’s an exciting journey because I never know what the day will bring. There are no “coincidences” in a Christian’s life. He has great things planned for all of us! Join him in this adventure!

Lily asked me a question yesterday: Would God ever say, “You win some and you lose some”? I know this may seem like a random post, but it really got me thinking about God’s mentality in how he views joy, sorrow, life, death, ups, downs, obedience, sin…etc. That’s it for now!
