Henan, China (city of Gongyi)

August 1 to August 31 (2011). Dan Lui and his wife, Lily Hsu, had the opportunity to spend an entire month with the Home of Hope Orphanage. Dan and Lily spent the month working in a medical clinic, acting as orphanage physician, teaching English, and just hanging out with all the children! It was a great but trying month. They would like to thank all their supporters.

March 24 to March 31 (2011). Some of the board members (Catherine and Dan) had the privilege to visit and learn from another orphanage in a different region of China. The experience was invaluable and we appreciated the hospitality of Gongyi’s Home of Hope. Please visit Home of Hope here: www.HopeOfHope.org

Guang Xi, China (cities of Yulin and Xinqiao)

October 15 to October 23 (2011). Dr. Adam Lenger went on his second trip to Yulin with Dan. Spent time in fellowship with the children, pure and simple! The pharmacy that we had set up a year ago, with the help of our faithful supporters, was restocked as well.

November 24 to November 30 (2010). Thanks to all those who donated to our $1 Medicine Pledge project; you helped raise a total $424.75! Part of the funds were used to set up and replenish this area of the Yulin orphanage: MEDICINES. The rest of the funds will be used to continually replenish the pharmacy. Cannot thank our supporters enough!

May 28 to June 6 (2010). We promised 6 months earlier that we would return to this rural elementary school to hand out gifts to all the children. This area of Guang Xi, China (Xinqiao) has definitely started to tug on our hearts as a possible future location for us to relocate. Thanks for all those that donated toys and/or money for toys to the school. We also want to say thank you to those that donated medicines, again, for the Yulin orphanage. We brought an entire suitcase full of cough syrup that has been extremely helpful!

December 28 to January 1 (2009/2010). The entire Board of Directors took their first group trip to Yulin this winter. So many challenges, so many obstacles, but so blessed! We thank all our supporters who were involved with not only the trip, but the three amazing projects leading up to the trip (Project Prayer, Project PenPal, Suitcase Project). Below you will find our summary video and a link to our photos, enjoy!

May 29 to June 9 (2009). We visited the local orphanage, preschool, and elementary school, though most of our time was spent hanging out with the orphanage kids. We presented the t-shirts and Boxed Love gifts [made by our many amazing volunteers] to the staff and kids during their National Children’s Day ceremony. We toured a few [large] city hospitals and met with their respective directors, along with visiting a rural medical clinic in a nearby village. We held conversations with Yulin’s orphanage director and with a few other locals about plans to establish an orphanage and medical clinic in the area. Please check out our pictures from the trip.

May 24 to June 1 and July 26 to August 2 (2008). We visited the local orphanage, preschool, and elementary school. We also met with local leaders and toured three preeminent city hospitals with their respective hospital directors.

Monterrey, Mexico

April 20 to April 25 (2009). Went with Back2Back Ministries. This was a combined medical and service trip. We set up clinics at a few different locations during our time there (some on the Back2Back campus and some at the villages/homes we were serving). Most of these patients do not have access to quality and/or consistent health care. We also spent a lot of time at multiple children homes (“orphanages”) and had an amazing time blessing the kids and being blessed in return. Please check out our video and pictures below to get an idea of what we did. Thanks to all our supporters!
